Program Director/Lead Teacher

Mrs. Long and her husband Jeff have been blessed with two wonderful adult children and a grandchild. She loves to discover new bike trails with her family, as well as knit and crochet.

Mrs. Long has been a teacher of children and adults for 30 years, specifically preschool for over 13 years. She is IMC MACTE certified. She also holds a BA in Music/Music History, an AAS in Early Childhood Education and a certificate in Early Childhood Reading (based on the Science of Reading) from the American Montessori Society. As a teacher, Mrs. Long prays that she will guide children to learn Biblically who they are, where they came from and what their purpose is in this world. Seeing the look of excitement as the children discover something new about God's creation is a precious benefit of sharing a classroom together. Connecting with families is also important, and Mrs. Long strives to keep parents a part of the learning process as well. Mrs. Long uses this verse to prompt her to continue to study God's Word - "But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have." - 1 Peter 3:15

Licensee Designee/Assistant

Mrs. VanHeukelom has always enjoyed teaching and caring for young children.  Since 2007, Mrs. VanHeukelom has been active in Calvary Kids Preschool in roles of Assistant Teacher, Aide, Teacher, and Licensee Designee.  Mrs. VanHeukelom has a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, and an Early Childhood Assistant Certification with Center for Guided Montessori Studies.

Her greatest joy is sharing the stories and love of Jesus with her students.

Mrs. VanHeukelom and her husband enjoy camping, swimming, and down hill skiing. They have 6 grown children and 8 grandchildren whom she adores!

Assistant

Mrs. VanOrman is a WMU alumni who started her career in healthcare and data analytics. She felt a calling to teach children through the lord while tutoring kids with SLD read. Hope has been at Calvary Kids for two years and has completed training through the Center for Guided Montessori Studies in early childhood. She has found a love and passion for the Montessori philosophy and incorporating the Bible.

Mrs. VanOrman and her husband Derek are working towards building their forever home, “ Bid Red”. They are both animal lovers and have three fur babies, Diesel a Black Lab, and two cats Sully and Snickers. Mrs. VanOrman enjoys working with her husband on projects to work towards a self-sustainable ecofriendly life. In her free time Mrs. VanOrman loves to golf, garden, crochet, or curl up on her porch with a good book and cup of tea.

Mrs. VanOrman prays that she will support the children’s and her own biblical and educational growth throughout the school year.
